Cloud computing is the foundation for many smart city initiatives in China. Dr. Ding and his team in software engineering lab of Zhejiang University are early pioneers of smart city PaaS cloud platforms in China. In this presentation, Dr. Ding will talk about how his team tailored Cloud Foundry in response to the challenges of smart city applications, such as warden network isolation, a universal deployment engine of Cloud Foundry, integration with OpenStack Heat, and multi-port application support.

Software Enabled Creative Destruction (Jason K Jackson, Pivotal Field CTO) - We are entering a new era of Creative Destruction, where industrial age companies are being forced to become innovative software companies. Jason K Jackson will discuss how in this new era of digitally connected user experience, the traditional competitive landscape has changed. We are seeing the beginning of a disruption driven by a new era of methodology, where the existing order must fail - to make way for new innovation.

This talk will be focusing on setting up network infrastructure and creating Cloud resources to support enterprise Cloud Foundry cluster, including deploy and configure virtual network, load balancer, high availability set, SSL termination, and the setting up the secured account on Azure.

In this talk, Changlong will share how a team of 10 dev & ops engineers setup, improved and maintained both Cloud Foundry V1 and V2 clusters. For example, how we maintained a rapidly growing CF clusters in production and what we improved of logging stack and monitoring stack in large scale to satisfy customers’ needs since we shared on CF summit 2013. And we will also share our experience of designing and developing Cloud Foundry V2 clusters.

OpenTSDB is a scalable time-series database and Grafana is a nice front end for it. In this talk, we will share our monitoring infrastructure with OpenTSDB and Grafana, including the deployment, configuration, and dashboards. 

This session will give a glimpse into how IBM not only manages the largest CF based PaaS environment in the world, but also leverages a common set of tools, processes, and procedures to provide IBM Bluemix capabilities "as a service" for clients all over the world in different deployment models. The IBM Bluemix team deploys, manages, operates, and updates the entire platform, including Cloud Foundry, Docker, data services, and more with a common approach, tools, and processes everywhere! This includes Public, Dedicated, and even Local deployments of IBM Bluemix. 

Over the next couple of years, KPIT aims to grow from 500 Mn to 1Bn in revenue, and much of this will be fueled by products in the IoT, Intelligent Transportation Management systems and Digital Transformation. As a first step we decided to embark on journey of Digital transformation within our own organization. After an assessment of internal application landscape, we found the key area of transformation was in the way the processes were defined on and off the system. We evaluated various stacks of technology and architecture. Cloud Foundry and the microservices paradigm is what we finally selected. User Experience, Mobility and crowdsoursing, were the key guiding principle that was used for assessment. In this talk, we intend to present how we made the decision to use Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and what our experience has been in getting started on this journey of Digital Transformation.

In a world drowning in terminology, how do make sense of the current trends in IT: XaaS, Cloud Native, Micro Services, Containers, Agile, Continuous Delivery, Platforms, Abstraction, Dev Ops, IoT, Reactive Programming?... What do they it all mean. How should you consume them?

This talks reviews recent IT trends and how Platforms like Cloud Foundry instigate change, both technically, and more importantly, organisationally. For example how do you structure your teams, how does Cloud Foundry help with continuous Delivery? The essence of Cloud Foundry is not what it is, or even what it can do, it is about what it can do for you. That's what this talk will unpack. 

Microservices is a new trend in enterprise for building applications. However,  enterprise faces many challenges in building distributed Microservices-based cloud native applications. These challenges include, not limited to,  how to define the boundary for a Microservice,  how to manage potentially large number of Microservices, how to secure them,  and how to manage Microservices dependency by an application. This presentation talks about how PaaS platform, including Clound Foundry, can help addressing the challenges, from service development,  deployment, discovery, binding, and monitoring and scaling.

In this talk we discuss The Vision of Autonomic Computing paper by Jeffrey Kephart and David Chess first published over ten years ago; its continuing relevance today and its influence on the recently graduated Apache Brooklyn open source project. We then look at the Brooklyn Service Broker donated by Cloudsoft to the Cloud Foundry Foundation earlier this year and its role helping enterprises unlock the value of Cloud Foundry in production.

Over the past year the adoption of the new technology stack and the adaption of Cloud Foundry continue to accelerate. John and Sam will be discussing the state of application development including:
